Alex's Got A Brand New Bag!

So the big news is that Alex got an offer with a company to do a management trainee position for the next year for Sennheiser with their Human Resources group. This will allow him to conduct training seminars (kind of like "teaching the teachers") for their offices in Hannover, Germany. This is a great company and opportunity for him. The company is in electronics and specializes in headphones and microphones that you see used in concerts around the world (like the Idol shows).

The big catch to this is that the job is almost 2 hours from where we live now, so we need to move closer to their office. The best thing is that his dad is living in a house that is set up like a duplex. His dad lives in one half and his ex-stepmother lives in the other half. She has been wanting to move, so we are going to move into her side of the house. We will try it for a year and if we are ok with it, we will buy out the remaining mortgage next year (which means we will own the house in 7-8 years!) The other good part is that if we need to move, but still want to own the house, we can just rent out and cover the mortgage. So, it's a pretty good deal!

Here are some pictures of the house. As you can see, it's a great house for us to raise Peanut in his first year!
The kitchen:

This is currently the dining room and sitting area, but this will be our living room instead:

The downstairs patio - yes there are 2!
The reading room - love the fireplace!
We will make this our dining room:

The stairway to the second floor (there is a basement we can access through his dad's part of the house for extra storage)
The closets along this wall are the attic, but we are going to put closet systems in to use for our clothes and stuff. This is also the walkway from the bedrooms to the bathrooms:
The guest room/office:

Peanut's room:

The walkway between our bedroom and Peanut's room:
The upstairs patio:
Our bedroom:

Outside our bedroom and the bathrooms:
The toilet room (love that it's seperate)
The shower room:
Outside the living room is a walkway to the back yard:
The view from the front of the house - no loud neighbors!!
The back yard - great play area for Peanut!
With a pond stocked with little frogs!

In the German Navy...

Every June in Kiel, Germany there is a Regatta week for boats all across Europe. Normally the weather is beautiful for this however, during this week the weather was cold and rainy (can you imagine cold weather in June??). During the Regatta, the German navy does tours of their boats and a 4 hour ride around the Baltic Sea. Alex signed us up for this and it was quite interesting. We came across some strong water and winds, but it was fun. They at least had warm drinks and food for us. I think it’s safe to say that Peanut has literally been on every type of mode of transportation there is now!
